It’s a feeling the Lakers have become all too familiar with. After Steve Nash failed to return for the second half of Sunday’s pre-season contest against the Warriors, it was originally written off as normal rest for the veteran.
After the game, a different tune was sung. The rest wasn’t so regular, nor was it scheduled.
Scott on Nash: "I don't know what was really going on with him. He just said he didn't feel quite right."

Byron Scott said Steve Nash told him he was done for the night, said he just didn't feel right.

Not only are the Lakers used to injuries, but specifically Nash injuries. After reportedly coming into training camp and the pre-season in the best shape and health he had been in over the last two years, this has the makings of a huge setback.
For the Lakers, this is why they brought in Ronnie Price for training camp, as well as hanging on to both Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson. The bad news is that the latter two players mentioned are also battling injuries of their own, albeit minor ones.
Nash originally stated this would be his final season, as it’s his last season under contract for the Lakers. However, as the season grew closer, he slowly changed his tone, likely based on his health. For his sake and the Lakers’, hopefully this is just a minor setback and a precautionary rest instead of another injury in the long list of ailments for the veteran point guard.
