Lakers Injury Report: Steve Nash thinks he’ll be ok

After last night blowout loss to the Warriors, the Lakers could use all the good news they can get. Guard Steve Nash, who did not return to last night’s contest in the second half with an apparent injury, said today that at practice he sat out as a precaution.

This is a small bit of good news for the Lakers, who had just about everything possible go wrong for them on the court last night. In a blowout game like last night’s it makes sense for Nash to sit out if he felt any kind of discomfort, not wanting to aggravate any of the list of injuries he’s suffered over the last couple seasons.

A timetable of sorts hasn’t been set for Nash, but if was a purely precautionary move, then one would assume he’d be available for Thursday’s contest. The Lakers could use his help as both Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson are battling their own injuries, with the former possibly able to play Thursday and the latter out until early next week.

The Lakers are still multiple weeks away from the regular season, which means they’ll likely take any recovery slow and ensure that Nash and others are fully healthy before returning to the court.
