Lakers Injury Report: Ryan Kelly “probable” for Tuesday

The Lakers may finally be getting some good news from the injury wire (knock on wood) for a change. Ryan Kelly, who has been out for nearly a month with hamstring issues, could finally be suiting up on Tuesday.

Kelly was resigned this summer to a two-year deal after a successful rookie campaign. However, after an initial hamstring injury at the beginning of training camp kept him out to start the year, he would later re-injure the hamstring, leading to the much longer layoff.

His presence on the court is much needed, as the Lakers lack both three-point shooters and spacing, both of which Kelly could bring. On top of that, with Julius Randle now done for the season, there is playing time opened up for Kelly to take once healthy.

Once he does come back, Kelly could really help the Lakers with his range. As of now, only Wayne Ellington could be considered a plus shooter from deep, and the Lakers really struggle from the lack of shooters. Players like Jeremy Lin, who thrive on driving to the rim, are lacking driving lanes with the lack of shooters.
