170. 107. 20. Final. 92

MVP: Jeremy Lin, welcome to the Lakers. Lin may have had better statistical games, but tonight looked like his best performance. He was attacking throughout, scoring 17 points in the second half, and dished out 7 assists as well. Jordan Hill and Kobe Bryant had shouts at this, but neither looked quite as good as Lin tonight.

LVP: I refuse to hand out a least valuable player on our first win tonight. Instead, I’ll give it to the Hornets’ offense, who could only manage 92 points against the Lakers defense. Their 3 for 14 performance from three was made more impressive by the fact that all three came in the first half from Marvin Williams.

Stat of the Night: 34-14. As in the score from the 3rd quarter tonight, with the Lakers coming out like a new team as they stormed out of the locker room and into the lead. Without a doubt, it was the best quarter of Lakers’ basketball this season both offensively and defensively.
