Williams is another player who has seen the rounds in both the NBA and the D-League. He’s recently been on the Lakers D-League affiliate in 2013-14. With the D-Fenders, he averaged 20.5 points and 6.4 assists with 5.0 rebounds. However, he’s most known for his explosive athleticism, leading to a highlight reel of dunks.
Like Bynum, Williams is another retread. You know you’re getting elite athleticism without much floor spacing. On a team that already lacks floor spacing already, adding Williams wouldn’t be an ideal fit. However, he couldn’t do any worse floor spacing-wise than Johnson does as of now. It makes more sense, though, for the Lakers to take a chance on a prospect like Miller than a veteran like Williams.
5. Peyton Siva
The last one is another point guard, this time another young one. Siva came in to work out for the Lakers prior to the 2013 NBA Draft. However, the Lakers instead went with Ryan Kelly. That doesn’t mean the Lakers are no longer interested.
The problem with Siva is that he’s another player who lacks an offensive game. He’s quick, athletic, and a good ball-handler, but he doesn’t have a solid jumper. He does, however, have a solid defensive game. Think of him as a younger Price, and considering his age, he is a much better prospect who could improve. He also is a passionate player and a leader, something the second unit could use without Lin on the bench any more.
