Where are some of the past Laker draft picks? Guys like Ater Majok are getting involved in a workout, but Andrew Goudelock is a shooter the Lakers surely miss.

While Goudelock had a stint as a rookie off the bench when Mike Brown was a head coach, he has been building quite the resume overseas. He was looking for a return to the NBA back in the summer of 2013, but is now playing for Fenerbahce Ulker, a Turkish basketball team.
Why is he noteworthy? He had an incredible shooting display, hitting 10 three-pointers in his last game.
In fact, it wasn’t that long ago when he scored 30 points against the Spurs in an exhibition game.
The league granted the Disable Player Exception for $1.5 million to make up for Julius Randle’s absence. One of the keys for the Lakers is to score from the perimeter, specifically behind the three-point line. The Lakers are currently 31.7% behind the three-point line as a team, ranked 26th against the rest of the NBA overall.
The ability to hit three-point shots with accuracy is an adaptation to modern play. Not only can it increase points per possession, but it allows for greater defensive balance when the shots are taken from straight-away or at the diagonals. Long shots leading to long rebounds may give a higher chance for offensive rebounding opportunities as well.
Wayne Ellington has been out indefinitely due to the unfortunate death of his father. Not many other Laker players are picking up the slack. Jordan Clarkson and Xavier Henry had a great game in the NBDL, but three-point shooting can’t be replaced by Ryan Kelly alone.
With the recent spurt of Carlos Boozer offensively, it makes sense to get him more touches and find him a player that can allow him more space in the painted area.
Considering that Goudelock was looking for a return to the NBA in 2013, maybe there’s a possibility for an opt-out. He has been a hot scorer in the Turkish leagues and the Lakers could use that firepower.
