Ryan Kelly might be the most cursed man on the Lakers team. Kelly, who was in his second game back from a hamstring injury that had kept him out for all but one game this year, re-injured his hamstring in the first half against the Golden State Warriors.
He will be evaluated by the team doctor tomorrow before a decision and timetable will be set.
This is especially disheartening for Kelly, who can’t seem to stay healthy for the Lakers. This is the third injury to his right hamstring already this season, an injury that kept him out of training camp and the early part of the season.
The Lakers were cautious bringing Kelly back this time, moving his rehab process along slowly to ensure there would be no aggravating the injury. After a decent performance in game one of his second return against San Antonio, Kelly looked more like his old self tonight.
However, after an explosive move to the basket, Kelly came up hobbling and, based on his reaction, he knew the extent of his injury.
Considering the length of his previous recoveries and the likelihood the Lakers take extra precautions, Kelly is likely to be out for a couple weeks.
