Xavier Henry just can’t catch a break. After re-signing with the Lakers in July, Xavier Henry spent most of his offseason rehabilitating the same knee that continued to plague his time on-court throughout 2014. Now, after returning to a level closely resembling full fitness for the first time in months, ‘Professor X’ has been struck down again.
During Monday’s practice session, Henry suffered an injury to his left Achilles’ tendon; a suspected rupture that is both difficult and time-consuming to repair. The team have sent him for an MRI, however it is believed that the worst case scenario will be confirmed later today.

The team was running its normal 3-on-3-on-3 drills when Henry went down without contact and said he heard a pop. “He was devastated,” Byron.

LAKERS. Await MRI result on Xavier Henry. Achilles can be seen clearly wether it's partial or complete. If complete=Surgery

As always, Dr. Klapper was on hand to give us the lowdown on the implications of Henry’s latest setback. If the injury is as damaging as is feared, it will end Xavier’s season, marking the third season-ending injury for the team in just over a month of basketball.
Everyone please say a prayer for @XavierHenry ... get healthy soon bro. Joshua 1:9

Henry’s teammates were quick to jump in support of him after this latest blow. Fellow Guard Jeremy Lin offered words of support, as did Coach Byron Scott who called it “a down day” for the team.
We wish all the best to Xavier at this difficult time.
