The Benefits of Jeremy Lin on the Laker Roster

Why did the Lakers acquire Jeremy Lin?  There’s more than one reason.

Several things come to mind from an organizational standpoint.

1.  The Lakers needed a healthy, starter-worthy point guard.

2.  The Lakers needed cap flexibility as soon as possible.

3.  The Lakers needed to find a potential long term solution at point guard.

4.  The Lakers benefited from the Houston Rockets trade by also acquiring a first-round pick.
