Friday night’s loss was not one of the better moments for the Lakers in their long time rivalry with the Boston Celtics. We are accustom to seeing two of the best in the league face off in a playoff-like atmosphere, or in the NBA finals when it comes to the Lakers vs. Celtics, but last night was a matchup of two re-building teams, that are heavily relying on their long time franchise players to mentor the others, and be patient while the front office makes their best attempt to bring back the glory days of 2010.
Although both teams came into the game with five wins, the Celtics looked much more talented, with Jeff Green, Evan Turner, Tyler Zeller, and Jared Sullinger, it seems as if the C’s had a better supporting cast for their star to work with. Despite shooting 6-17, Rajon Rondo had a brilliant game finishing with 16 assists and 8 rebounds. To put it in perspective, Rondo had more assists than the whole Laker team combined (14).
The Lakers played one of their worse offensive games of the season, shooting a dreadful 37.5 % percent from the floor, against the 28th best defensive team.
