Lakers Rumors: Jordan Hill Not Likely To Be Dealt
By Jacob Rude
After signing a big contract this summer, Jordan Hill has backed up the big financial commitment with big performances on the court. However, his great play has led to trade speculation. While his contract has an implicit no-trade clause with it being a two-year deal with the second year being a team option, Hill would likely approve a trade to a contender.
If the Lakers want to trade him.
According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the Lakers are fielding calls on Hill, but are not open to trade him.
"A contract that once looked overwrought now appears eminently fair, to the point where the Lakers are considered likely to exercise the $9 million option they hold on Hill’s deal next season. On a roster widely viewed as devoid of trade assets, sources told Sporting News that Hill is the one guy about whom the Lakers get realistic trade calls—but that LA has no plans to move him."

Hill is averaging a career high in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks on 49.8% field goal shooting. Those averages place him 3rd in scoring, 1st in rebounds, 4th in assists, and 2nd in blocks for the Lakers this year, validating his payday from this summer.
At his current level, Hill could likely earn the Lakers a first round pick in this year’s draft as well as the possibility of a young asset, which would be key in the Lakers rebuilding plans. The pick would give the Lakers five possible selections in the 2015 NBA Draft, a huge plus for a team void of talent and young talent.
