Lakers Miss Twelve Shots In A Row, Lose 13 Point Lead

With six minutes left in the third quarter, in their game against the Sacramento Kings, the score was 79-66. The thirteen point lead the Lakers built was primarily because of a three minute, 9 point Kobe Bryant scoring binge. It gave the Lakers some breathing room. But revert back to normal and the Lakers, who don’t move the ball or move themselves without the ball, who don’t create in the paint, scored one point in the next six minutes.

The Lakers missed twelve shots in a row, most of which were on the perimeter. Kobe missed five shots, including a three. One of his shots was blocked by Rudy Gay. Nick Young missed two three pointers. Jordan Hill missed a mid-range. Carlos Boozer missed his high arcing shot. Jeremy Lin missed two shots, one was a three pointer. Robert Sacre had his shot blocked by DeMarcus Cousins.

0-12.

One free throw make. By the time the quarter ended, the Lakers had 80 points and the Kings had 81.

The Kings, who were 5-9 in the last six minutes of the third quarter, outscored the Lakers 15-1.

By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the tone had already been set. With six minutes left, the Lakers were leading by two points, 91-89. They were 2-13 the rest of the way. The Lakers were 0-7 from the three point line in the last minutes. Ronnie Price, who is shooting 27% from three, took three shots behind the perimeter because he was open (for a reason). The Kings outscored the Lakers 19-10 to seal the victory.
