1. Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson’s days in Oklahoma City were likely already numbered even before the team brought in guard Dion Waiters via trade. In the 10 games since the trade, Jackson’s numbers have went down to 9.6 points per game, 2.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds, all down from his season averages.

  • Our own Brendan Gilbert wrote a great article recently on why the Lakers should trade for Jackson, and many of these points will resemble his, but the biggest reason is that Jackson will be a restricted free agent this summer. With the team already likely to be contenders for his services, the Lakers can ensure they keep him by trading for him. That way, any offer made for Jackson this summer can be matched by the Lakers.

A package built around Houston’s first-round pick, Jordan Hill, and possibly a future pick could be enough to land Jackson, although it’s unlikely. If the Lakers took on Kendrick Perkins‘ deal, that could sweeten the pot even more.
