MVP: Jordan “Mr. January” Hill with the biggest clutch performance of his life. Just shy of a career high in points, clutch shots in both overtime periods, and the hands down MVP performance of the night. Special mention to Pau Gasol, who almost kept the Lakers tank alive with his tip-in at the end of regulation.
LVP: I really don’t want to give this to anyone because it was a spirited effort tonight. If forced, I’ll hand it to Ryan Kelly, but it’s incredibly frustrating to watch him struggle at the small forward game after game while Byron Scott stands on the sideline with his arms crossed.
Stat of the Night: 54-49. As in the rebounding battle. Going against an elite front line of Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, and Taj Gibson, the Lakers did an admirable job of fighting on the glass, led by Hill’s 12 boards and nine from Robert Sacre and Ed Davis.
