Lakers News: Byron Scott Impressed With Sacre’s Performance
By Alex Torres
The Lakers welcomed Pau Gasol last night and they treated him to a great ovation. They even gave out shirts that said “Thanks Pau” and he deserved all the recognition after delivering two championships to the city of Los Angeles.
The Lakers also gave Gasol a parting gift, they beat him and the Chicago Bulls in overtime 123-118. It ended a nine game losing streak and it gave Laker fans a reason to celebrate. According to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, Byron Scott was impressed with Robert Sacre’s performance last night:
The Bulls were coming off an impressive victory against the Golden State Warriors on the road. They beat the team with the best record in the NBA and next was a team that hadn’t won a game in nine attempts. For Scott, his big men did a marvelous job last night. The Bulls have an impressive front court that includes Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Gasol.
Jordan Hill and Robert Sacre were great, but Scott was really impressed with Sacre’s hustle out there. Hill finished with 26 points and 12 rebound, while Sacre didn’t have big numbers, his activity on the floor goes beyond the stat sheet.
The Lakers are taking the court and more often than not, the other team is more talented. However, Sacre’s performance demonstrates that his energy and hustle could be enough to beat a good team like the Bulls.
