Centers

Starter – Jordan Hill, 35 minutes
2nd String – Ed Davis, 25 minutes
3rd String – Robert Sacre, 10 minutes

At this point in the season, Hill is the best player on the team and also the player most likely to be traded. The Lakers need to showcase him for a trade by giving him bigger minutes. If the Lakers can’t move him, then it’s a big failure. He’s an energy big who has shown range and is one of the better rebounders in the league. Some contender wants him.

After him is Davis, who has been one of the biggest revelations from this summer. The Lakers have a big decision to make as to whether trade Davis at the deadline or fork out the big money to keep him this summer. No matter which choice they make, it’s in their best interest to continue to play him. In the event that Hill is traded, Davis should step in as the starter.

At this point, we know what we’re getting with Sacre. At best, he’s a third big on a team and the last player on the bench. He shouldn’t be seeing big minutes, but the Lakers also shouldn’t be trying to win games, so give him more minutes!
