While they don’t have many coveted prospects, the Lakers trade rumors mainly focus on the likes of Jordan Hill, who is in the midst of a career year. We look at five trades the Lakers could make at the deadline involving Hill.

1. Oklahoma City Thunder

Many times, I’ve either proposed this trade or some form of this trade, but it makes so much sense for both parties. The Lakers would get the Thunder’s first-round pick in this deal, as well as two expiring contracts which help them maintain the flexibility they wish for. The first round pick can serve as further ammunition in a trade (Goran Dragic?) or as another chance to add cheap talent in the draft (NOTE: after publish, it was revealed that the Thunder can not trade this year’s first round pick unless they get one in return, meaning the Thunder would have to include a young player instead of the pick).

For the Thunder, they get a big upgrade offensively from Perkins in their race to the playoffs. While Perkins might offer them something defensively, his offensive ineptitude costs them too dearly. Bringing in Hill, who can serve as a high-energy rebounder and help with his improved scoring would be a nice upgrade.

This trade could also be done by leaving out the first-round pick and including a prospects like Jeremy Lamb, Perry Jones, or even Reggie Jackson in an altered version of the deal.
