The Lakers are preparing to play the Utah Jazz tonight and they will be short handed once again. Ronnie Price is the latest victim to be hit by an injury and he’s more than likely out for the season.

Price played 18 minutes against the Celtics and only registered three points, but he did have five assists, four boards and four steals. He was effective, but that might have been the last we see of Price in a Laker uniform.
Today, Price underwent successful surgery on his right elbow. The procedure removed bone spurs and bone chips, which should correct any pain or discomfort Price felt on his elbow. Bone spurs can cause a lot of pain, which makes it difficult to fully extend your arm.
The recovery time for Price is about six to eight weeks, so if all goes as scheduled, the NBA regular season will be over by then. Since the Lakers are not in the playoffs, the season is much shorter for them.
Price started 20 games this season and worked hard to land on the Lakers roster this season. At 31 years old, Price will have to once again prove he can play at a high level. Price is a capable back-up point guard and he should be able to return from this injury.

EL SEGUNDO – Lakers guard Ronnie Price underwent successful surgery this morning to remove bone spurs and bone chips from his right elbow. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. Price is expected to be out approximately six to eight weeks.
Price, who signed with the Lakers as a free agent on September 24, has appeared in 43 games (20 starts) this season, averaging 5.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.56 steals in 22.8 minutes per game.
