The Los Angeles Lakers have arguably had the worst two-year stretch in franchise history these last two seasons. With 16 games remaining, the Lakers can’t wait until the end of the season, but for one particular player, it could be over already.

Nick Young has been dealing with a left knee injury, but the Lakers still remained hopeful he would return before the season concluded. It looks like Young will have to wait until next year. According to Joey Ramirez of Lakers.com, Young has a small fracture in his left kneecap:
"Young has a small fracture of his left kneecap, a CT scan revealed on Wednesday. Young will make a complete recovery, as it is expected that the fracture will heal itself with rest."
Luckily for Young, the fracture does not require surgery and he only needs rest to get it back to normal. That’s good news for the Lakers and Young because he will be back at a hundred percent next season.
As far this season is concerned, there is not point for Young to come back, even if he was healthy. The Lakers are better off losing games, so Young can begin his rehab process and focus on coming back stronger next season.
