With one game remaining in the regular season, the Lakers are preparing for the NBA Draft and free agency. If the Lakers lose this final game against the Kings, this will go down as the worst year in Laker history.

Not the story book ending everyone was hoping for, but the Lakers must move on. Byron Scott and Mitch Kupchak have some tough decisions to make and next year’s team might look nothing like the one who will take the floor against the Kings at Staples Center tomorrow night.

The Lakers are hopeful they will have a draft pick this year, but it’s not guaranteed. They must first wait and see if the ping-pong balls bounce their way to determine how they will attack free agency. According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, the Lakers might be interested in moving Nick Young this off-season:

This is not a complete surprise, as Medina pointed it out, Young and Scott did not have the best relationship. While Young is one of the more entertaining players in the league, Scott was not a fan of his antics. Young is also not known for his defense, something that Scott preaches religiously.

Young only played in 42 games and he averaged 13.4 points per game. Beyond that, Young didn’t have much of an impact. Young is a fan favorite, but he might be better served by the change of scenery. Scott is not going anywhere anytime soon, so Young’s days in Los Angeles could be coming to an end.
