The Oklahoma City Thunder are fighting for their playoff lives. They need to win against the Minnesota Timberwolves and hope the Spurs can beat the Pelicans in New Orleans. While both teams have identical records at 44-37, the Pelicans own the tie breaker, but they do have to beat the defending champion Spurs.

The Thunder would not be in this situation if they had a healthy Kevin Durant. The reigning NBA MVP has spent a lot of time on the sidelines this season, which is unfortunate because the game is better when he is on the floor.
Durant is active on social media and is not shy when responding to fans. Today, he was asked which four players were on his Mount Rushmore of basketball. This is the response Durant tweeted from his official account:
Picking four players to represent the game of basketball can be extremely difficult, but you can’t argue with Durant’s choices: Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Four of the greatest players of all time and each of them have a valid case to be on the Mount Rushmore of basketball.
This just shows the amount of respect Durant has for Bryant. He could have gone with other legendary names, but he chose Bryant, who is still an active player in the league. With Bryant likely leaving the game after next season, Durant will be one of the players carrying the torch and maybe he will make a case to put himself on the Mount Rushmore of basketball when it is all set and done.
