Lakers Rumors: Julius Randle Might Play The 3 Next Season
By Alex Torres
The NBA Draft Lottery will held on Tuesday, May 20th, so the Lakers and their fan base can only sit and wait. For now, we can just speculate what the Lakers will do in the draft (if they can keep the pick) and in free agency.

- 2 Lakers who would benefit the most from a Kyrie Irving trade
- Victor Oladipo’s Russell Westbrook comments are terrible sign for Lakers
- 4 Free agent fits for the Lakers while they wait on Kyrie Irving
- 3 Most likely positions the Lakers will use for the last roster spot
The Lakers’ strategy in free agency is contingent on them keeping the draft pick. If they run into some bad luck and lose the pick, the Lakers will need to be more aggressive in free agency. They have needs in multiple positions, so a lot of work needs to be done.
The Lakers are excited to have Julius Randle back next season and he will be competing to become the starting power forward. According to Eric Pincus of the LA Times, Randle might see some time at the small forward position as well:
Randle has some nice range from the field and it will be interesting to see how he would play at the small forward position. However, Randle plays with aggressive around the rim, so it would be a shame to ask him to play around the perimeter.
The Lakers also have to think about the defensive end. Is Randle quick enough to guard wings? It remains to be seen, but the Lakers will surely find out. Right now the focus is on Randle returning from the injury at a one hundred percent. If healthy, Randle can cause havoc in the paint, which is something the Lakers lacked this season.
