While most people are focused on the NBA playoffs, Laker fans can’t help but to speculate what the Lakers will do in the off-season. This fan base is starving for some talent, somebody to give the Lakers hope.

This off-season will be crucial for the Lakers. Many believe the Lakers will be the favorites to land point guard Rajon Rondo. After all, Kobe Bryant has publicly endorsed Rondo and would love to play next to his former rival.
According to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report, the Lakers are not completely sold on signing the 6-foot-1 point guard:
"But what should be made clear, according to team sources, is that Buss is not the believer he was earlier in the season when it comes to Rondo, and Kupchak is toting enough healthy skepticism that he sees Rondo as value only at a certain low price."
The Mavs believed the acquisition of Rondo would catapult them into title contention, but it has not worked out. Rondo’s lone season in Dallas will probably cost him some money this off-season. He was looking for a max contract, but his attitude seems to be a problem wherever he goes.
At one point Rondo was considered one of the better point guards in the league, but at 29, is he already in decline? The Lakers have money to spend this off-season, but with the emergence of Jordan Clarkson, it might be wise to spend elsewhere.
