Lakers Rumors: Great Possibility Kevin Love Ends Up In LA

The Lakers get to watch the NBA Playoffs from the comfort of their own home this season and that’s been the case for the last two seasons. The Lakers are not accustomed to watching the playoffs, they are usually contending for an NBA championship, which is why this off-season is crucial for them to re-load on talent.

The Lakers have plenty of cap space and will be very aggressive. They will pursue a number of free agents this summer, the Lakers desperately want a big name to restore hope to this franchise. Out of all the free agents this summer, one in particular seems to likely end up in Los Angeles.

According to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report, there’s a great possibility Kevin Love could sign with the Lakers this summer:

"“I still think Kevin Love is a great possibility for the Lakers opting out of Cleveland. The Lakers really believe that he can be a centerpiece still, I know there a lot mixed opinions on him in the league, but Kevin Love loves LA. His girlfriend is out here, there’s so many ties to Southern California, it just makes a tremendous amount of sense for him to be the one guy who wants to come out here.”"

Love played his college ball at UCLA, so he has experience playing under the bright lights in Los Angeles. His struggles with LeBron James and the Cavs have made it easier for him to opt out of his contract. After being the alpha male with the Timberwolves, Love has had a tough time adjusting to being the number three option.

With Kobe Bryant retiring soon, most marquee free agents could come to Los Angeles knowing the Lakers would eventually be their team. It makes the most sense for Love to come play for the Lakers, but free agency is always full of surprises.

We have to wait until July for the free agency period to open up, until then we can only speculate.
