Bryant was a guest on The Insider and he was asked who his pick for NBA MVP was for this season. Bryant, a one time winner of the award chose Houston Rockets shooting guard, James Harden:
Bryant does not have an MVP vote, but his opinion still matters. This MVP race is one of the closest in some times. The two lead dogs are Stephen Curry and Harden and Bryant chose the beard. He didn’t give much explanation, but maybe he felt a fellow shooting guard deserved the award.
Fans in the Bay Area are not very happy. They feel Curry led his team to the best record in the NBA, which should be the difference in this close race. You can’t go wrong with either choice, it will interesting to see how everyone voted across the country.
Bryant is one of the best players of all time, but only won this award once. He deserved to win a couple more times, but the voters can be tricky, so both Harden and Curry are both realistic options. You can even make a case for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
