Lakers’ Players React To Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight

The world was supposed to stop on May 2nd. The highly anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao was tabbed as the fight of the century, but it did not live up to all the hype.

After waiting years to see these two fighters take the ring, most people who spent $100 to order the fight were extremely disappointed. Mayweather showed why he is the best boxer of this era, but like the San Antonio Spurs, it’s not very entertaining to watch.

The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have to worry about the NBA playoffs this year, so they were available to attend the event in Las Vegas or watch from the comfort of their own home. Here is how some of the current Lakers reacted to the outcome of the fight.

Julius Randle

Jordan Clarkson

Jeremy Lin

Carlos Boozer

Jabari Brown

Looks like most Laker player were rooting for Mayweather, with the exception being Jeremy Lin, who admires Pacquiao. Jordan Clarkson took the political approach and did not really side either Mayweather or Pacquiao, which makes sense since he is half Filipino.

Julius Randle, Carlos Boozer and Jabari Brown support The Money Team and they were obviously very happy with the result. Nick Young on the other hand tweeted about the fight, but did not approve and he voiced his displeasure.

Young was not alone, most people wanted to see these two fighters in a brawl, but it never happened. Boxing is supposed to be a contact sport and it didn’t seem like it last night.
