Kobe Bryant made some headlines when he said that James Harden of the Houston Rockets was his pick for NBA MVP. Now, we know that Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry ran away with the award and today he will be presented with the Maurice Podoloff Trophy before Game 2 of their series against the Grizzlies.

Kobe picked the wrong horse to win the race, but an argument could be made for Harden. This was a race where there was no clear cut favorite, but both Harden and Curry played well enough to win the award.
A fan went to Twitter to see if Bryant thought Curry deserved the award and he was quick to say yes
This was thought to be a close race between Curry and Harden, but the Davidson Wildcat received 100 out of the 130 first place votes. Only a few of the media agreed with Bryant; Harden only received 25 first place votes.
Bryant got to play against Curry several times early on in the season and he would be the first to tell you that Curry is special. Bryant has always given credit where it’s due and there is no question he believes Curry was more than deserving of the MVP award.
