Kobe Bryant will go down as one of the greatest basketball players of all time when he finally hangs them up. After five NBA titles and countless awards, Bryant can leave basketball knowing he dominated the sport and for a long time no one was better.

That’s tough to do in any sport. To be the absolute best at what you is difficult to accomplish in any field, but that’s what Bryant and Lionel Messi have in common. Since soccer in the United States is an after thought, we don’t recognize the greatness of Messi. Simply, the man is incredible and could go down as the best soccer/football player of all time.
Today, the Barcelona striker scored twice and assisted on a third goal. Barcelona beat Bayern Munich 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final match-up. Kobe took to Twitter to acknowledge Messi’s “Magisterial” performance:
Kobe has been outspoken that his favorite team is FC Barcelona and has interacted with the team and the players in the past. Kobe was on the cover of ESPN The Magazine with a full Barca kit, so he must have really enjoyed watching today’s dominating win against Bayern Munich.
With a 3-0 advantage, Barcelona will likely be in the Champions League Final. The final will take place on June 6th in Berlin, Germany, so don’t be surprised if you see Bryant in the stands.
