Since we don’t get to enjoy our beloved Lakers during the NBA playoffs, might as well remember the good times, as well as the bad. On this day in Laker history, Andrew Bynum became famous for putting his elbow/forearm on JJ Barea, which resulted in an ejection.
Bynum is 7-footer and Barea is one of the shorter players in the league at 6-feet tall (it looks like he is closer to 5-foot-10). The little Barea came down the lane and was in the air looking to float one in, but Bynum had other plans.
The former 10th overall pick in 2005 decided he wanted to hurt somebody before being swept by the Dallas Mavericks. The play was unnecessary and it was simply embarrassing for a first class organization like the Lakers.
