The Lakers officially landed the No. 2 pick in the upcoming 2015 NBA Draft on Tuesday night. Heading into the lottery, the purple and gold had only an 83 percent chance of keeping their top-5 protected pick. Luckily, the Lakers leap-frogged the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks, landing the No. 2 selection.

Everybody in Laker land was celebrating that not only did the Lakers keep their pick, they landed in a position to grab a future franchise player in either Jahlil Okafor or Karl Anthony Towns.
Lakers star Kobe Bryant decided to get in on the celebration, leaving his thoughts on twitter.
Kobe is right on point saying the Lakers deserved that No. 2 pick. These past few years have been quite depressing for Laker fans as the team has struggled with the departure of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol and nagging injuries to Bryant.
The Lakers landing the No. 2 pick will only help expedite the rebuilding process. The Lakers already have solid youngsters in All-Rookie Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and Tarik Black. Teaming up either Towns or Okafor with this young squad will hopefully help Kobe’s final seasons be more enjoyable than the previous two.
