Lakers Rumors: ESPN Insiders Expect Love To Leave Cavs

The Lakers will be entering free agency with a lot of holes to fill. After losing 61 games during the regular season, the Lakers are looking to replenish their roster. It’s not just one piece they are looking for, the Lakers need a lot of help.

With a new sense optimism surrounding the Lakers, this free agency period looks to be different than the last couple of years. With the salary cap going up substantially, the Lakers should be very aggressive knowing any deals they hand out this summer will look like a bargain in two years.

One player that’s been linked to the Lakers for quite some tine now is Kevin Love. After a difficult season with the Cleveland Cavaliers that ended with a season ending shoulder injury, will Love take his talents elsewhere? Brian Windhorst was a guest on the Zach Lowe Podcast and they both believe Love will leave Cleveland at season’s end: (via: Real GM)

"“Every executive I talk to, every agent I talk to, every quasi insider, every girlfriend’s cousin’s sister’s boyfriend all says this guy is out of there,” said Brian Windhorst during a podcast with Zach Lowe."

Lowe and Windhorst would go on to mention that many believe Love will eventually end up with the Lakers. Love played his college ball at UCLA, so he would fit right in. However, if the Lakers draft a big man and sign Love this Summer, what does this mean for Julius Randle?

It’s hard to speculate what the Lakers have planned for free agency, but it all starts with the NBA draft. The Lakers need some help on the perimeter and there’s plenty of free agents out there that can come in and fill a hole the Lakers desperately need.

Love will likely command a max contract, will the Lakers give it to him? We will have to wait and see.
