Former Lakers C Dwight Howard Offers Unfortunate Quote

Dwight Howard’s tenure in Los Angeles was tenuous. He departure was downright ugly. So, it should come as no surprise Laker fans would take great pleasure in watching “Superman” struggle on and off the court.

Wednesday night, Howard’s season came to a close as boos rained down from the seats of Oracle Arena in response to the cheap shots he threw at various Golden State Warriors – most specifically: one that crumpled Andre Iguodala. All that took place after Howard was allowed to play despite throwing a blow to Andrew Bogut’s face.

Howard would, in game five, draw a technical foul that would have suspended him for game six if it was necessary and, if not rescinded, will hold Howard out of the first game of next season.

After all that, Howard had this to say, which irked many a fan and drew outright laughter from one blogger in particular (me).

Look, Dwight performed at a very high level in the series against Golden State; but that’s how it always goes, isn’t it? He plays well, racks up stats and, at times, looks like the force of nature that carried the Orlando Magic all the way to the finals. Then, he throws some elbow, draws some technical foul or says something after a game that you can’t help but shake your head at.

All that might have led to this hilarious exchange between he and Kobe Bryant last season.
