After years of being listed on the market, Kobe Bryant’s Newport Beach home has finally sold. Bryant had asked for as much as $8.59 million for the 8,741-square feet home as recently as 2013 before lowering the price substantially.

Bryant will receive $6.45 million for the four bedroom, five and a half bathroom home. According to the LA Times, the $6.45 million sum will set a record as the highest price ever paid for a Newport home.
"Multiple Listing Service records show, the highest price ever paid for a home in the Newport Coast enclave. The sale bests the previous high-water mark set by an 8,000-square-foot home that sold for $4.78 million in 2013, according to property records."
Originally built in 1997, the mansion has undergone massive renovations and expansion during Bryant’s 14 tenure as owner. Some of the highlights include an 850-foot gym, a home theater, and a built in shark tank.
So if you had $6.45 million laying around, you could have bought Kobe’s home. For those of you that don’t, surely Kobe will eventually sell one of his other houses in the future. So make sure you start saving up, because they do not come cheap.
