The NBA Finals are two days away and while most are looking forward to watching Steph Curry and LeBron James battle it out, most Laker fans are counting down the days until the NBA Draft. 23 days until we find out who will be the next piece to the puzzle.
-== Top 10 Lakers Draft Picks of All-Time ==-
Karl-Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor are the projected top two picks on Chad Ford’s ESPN Mock Draft 6.0, but with over two weeks left until the draft, that could quickly change.
After watching Towns in one of his private workouts, it becomes clearer that he should be the top pick in 2015. However, the Timberwolves might not agree. According to Ford, Flip Saunders and the Wolves might prefer Okafor:
"Karl-Anthony Towns is the No. 1-ranked player on my Big Board. However, virtually all the signals from sources inside the Wolves point to Jahlil Okafor being Flip Saunders’ favorite right now."
Okafor was at one point considered the consensus number one pick, but Towns has taken over that title. It would be shocking to see the Wolves pick Okafor, Towns simply has the better upside. Unless Saunders and the Wolves know something we don’t.
Okafor has better skills offensively and will likely contribute faster, but Towns could be the next great two-way center. Everyone assumes both the Wolves and Lakers are going big, but don’t be surprised if D’Angelo Russell or Emmanuel Mudiay sneak up and land in the top two.
