My job here is to use words to express things. Typically, I at least consider myself decent at said job.
After watching Karl-Anthony Towns’ highlight, again, from Draft Express, I literally have no words. Alright, maybe I do, but they won’t do this clip justice.
He can legitimately do everything you would hope to see from a prospect. It’s important to point out there were no defensive drills shown, but it’s Jahlil Okafor, not Towns who has question marks at that end heading into the draft.

What we did see was a smooth jumper, nice handles, explosive athleticism and a tremendous motor. He even stepped out and hit what would be three-pointers without making much of an adjustment to his shooting stroke. I’m telling you, this workout had me floored.
Off the court, he said all the right things. Lakers fans will hate to hear this, but it was nice to hear Towns say he doesn’t care where he plays, only that he gets to. That sounds like someone confident enough in his skill set to know he’ll perform anywhere. Yes, players have as much coaching off the court as on it as they prepare for the draft, but his answers came across as genuine and his confidence was anything but false.
What the Lakers need now is to leak stories about a terrible interview or that Towns’ favorite player growing up was Dwight Howard, on and off the court – anything to convince the Minnesota Timberwolves to pass on what looks to be one of the most talented prospects the league has seen in quite some time.
Unless Flip Saunders is reading this; then I’ve been lying this whole time.
