The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers had a thrilling start to the NBA Finals. Game 1 did not disappoint and 48 minutes was not enough, these teams needed overtime to decide a winner.

The Cavs lost the game, but had a chance to win several times. Unfortunately, the Cavs might be without Kyrie Irving moving forward after he left the game with an injury to his knee. Irving has been dealing with an injured knee, so it does not look good for Cavs.

Cleveland could really use a healthy Kevin Love right now and Love wishes he was able to help his teammates as they contend for an NBA title. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Love has never wanted to play as bad as he did while watching Game 1 and wants to be back next year to win with the Cavs:

"“I’ve never wanted to be in a game more than that one,” said Love, who had never been on a playoff team in his six prior NBA seasons.Asked specifically whether that meant he wanted to be back in Cleveland next season, Love said, “Yes. I want to win.”"

Since entering the NBA in 2008, Love has not experienced much winning. He put up big numbers for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but this was his first post-season experience in his seven-year career. It didn’t last long, Love was injured while the Cavs swept the Boston Celtics in the opening round.

Love did not fit in with the Cavs right away and had trouble adjusting to being the third option. Love was restricted to being a three-point specialist and his numbers suffered. Most assumed Love would bolt for free agency, but after watching his team in the biggest stage in basketball, it looks like Love has changed his mind.

Nothing is for certain. Love obviously wouldn’t come out and say that he is looking to leave Cleveland while the Cavs are in the NBA Finals. However, he is a competitor and if winning a championship is the ultimate goal, then he should stay with LeBron and Kyrie.
