Jahlil Okafor will more than likely be the lucky one to be selected by such a prestigious franchise. However, the Lakers also have some guards they need to consider. D’Angelo Russell out of Ohio State looks to be a special player and executives around the league are raving about him.

As reported earlier, some believe the Lakers could go with Russell at the number two slot, but in order for it to happen the Buckeye will need to impress the Lakers on and off the court.

Today, Russell was in Los Angeles and had dinner with general manager Mitch Kupchak and the rest of the basketball operations staff. Here’s a picture from the Lakers’ official twitter account:

The Lakers have a very important decision to make and in order to get it right you have to take everyone into consideration. The Lakers must get to know these players inside and out to fully evaluate them.

Russell is scheduled to have his own workout with the Lakers on Monday. This will be Russell’s last chance of leaving a lasting impression with the Lakers. He needs to prove he is worthy of the selection, otherwise the Lakers could go with the safe pick and choose Okafor.
