Many have wondered what Kobe Bryant might do once his NBA playing days are numbered, and one potential career move might be to a TV set. He’d already spent an entire hour on ESPN’s Grantland Basketball Hour and, Tuesday night, analyzed the third game of the NBA Finals for Sina, a Chinese channel.

In it, he offered an update to two of his fans’ most burning questions: how his shoulder is recovering and whether this will be his last NBA season.
First, on his shoulder (Quotes from the LA Times):
"“The strength of my shoulder is getting better and better by the day,” he said. “Hopefully, I’ll be shooting the ball in a month and a half. Then I feel like the fish has been put back in the water.”"
Then, on his career’s outlook:
"“I wish I could play 20 more years. But I think there’re other fun things that we can do,” he said. “Stay close to the game and continue this great relationship that we’ve forged over the years. Teaching the game more. Teaching some more philosophies.”"
Both answers make a ton of sense. The month and a half follows the Lakers’ original timeline and will have him back by the time training camp opens in Hawaii, because of course that’s where it’ll be held.
No matter what Kobe chooses to do and when he chooses to do so, he’ll have plenty of fans. Given how charismatic and knowledgeable he is about basketball, jumping in front of the cameras for analysis seems a natural move. He’d immediately be exponentially better than Charles Barkley, at least.
