The Warriors are the new champions of the NBA, which means the 2014-15 campaign is officially over. Now, we have to wait until October for the season to return.
-== How The Top 5 NBA Prospects Fit With The Lakers ==-
For Laker fans, the NBA Draft is the next event they can look forward to, but after watching the Warriors win the title, Kobe Bryant is thinking of the good ol’ days when the Lakers were the best team in the NBA.
Bryant posted a picture on his Instagram of Shaquille O’Neal and himself holding up the Larry O’Brien and MVP trophy. The picture also comes with their overall postseason record and their individual stats and both are extremely impressive:
The 2001 Lakers are the most dominant postseason team in NBA history. Allen Iverson’s heroic Game 1 in the NBA Finals prevented the Lakers from going perfect that year, but they were really close. As you can see by the statistics, both Shaq and Kobe were dominant and nobody could stop them.
Shaq was named the Finals MVP, but Kobe was very deserving of the award as well. Will we ever see another dominating duo like Kobe and Shaq ever again? I would not bet on it.
The Lakers could have won six or seven titles if Shaq and Kobe managed to coexist, but they didn’t and all that is left to do is wonder what could have been.
