The NBA Finals are over, which means all the focus has not shifted towards the draft. We are exactly one week away from knowing which direction the Lakers will go with the number two overall pick.

Time is quickly running out and the Lakers need to cram all the information and make a decision soon. Most believe the Lakers will go with Jahlil Okafor, other think they will select Russell, but we won’t know until June 25th.
Before all the top prospects head to Brooklyn, Okafor and Russell will get one more shot at impressing the Lakers. According to Chad Ford of ESPN, the Lakers will bring in Okafor and Russell for a second workout:
Emmanuel Mudiay had his second workout scheduled for today, so he’s still possibly in the running for the second selection. Okafor will be in on Friday and Russell will be there 24 hours later. This will be the last opportunity for either prospect to strengthen their case to the Lakers and for all we know, it might come down to these last workouts.
The debate is whether to go big or small. In the past, this was a no brainer, but we just saw an NBA Finals that featured no prominent big men. It was all about guards and wings, and the centers were stuck in the bench. Does this mean the Lakers should go small? Or is Okafor too good to pass up? So many questions to answer, but it won’t be long until we find out what the Lakers are thinking.
