The NBA Draft is inching closer and the Lakers have done their due diligence by bringing all the top prospects to their facilities in El Segundo. Well, almost all of them.

Karl-Anthony Towns remains the one player that has not worked out for the Lakers. The consensus number one overall pick said early on that he will not be working out for any team, but the Lakers were hopeful that he would reconsider.
With days left until the NBA Draft it seems unlikely that Towns will change his mind, according to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News:
"The Lakers have also become increasingly doubtful they will have a workout for Kentucky center Karl-Anthony Towns. The Lakers believe their lack of progress with those efforts stem from most NBA mock drafts predicting the Minnesota Timberwolves will select with their No. 1 pick. But the Lakers will accommodate their workout schedule should Towns and his representatives express interest in a workout."
Towns knows that he is likely going to Minnesota, so he might consider a workout for the Lakers a waste of time. It would be a shocker if the T-Wolves didn’t choose the Kentucky big man. With the young core of Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine, the addition of Towns would give Minnesota a promising team they can build on moving forward.
At this point the bigger question is who the Lakers will select with the number two pick. Jahlil Okafor continues to be the popular choice, but it seems D’Angelo Russell is gaining ground. The Lakers have a tough decision on their hands, let’s hope they are fortunate and make the right decision.
