Lakers Draft: Wolves Inform Towns He’ll Be No. 1 Pick
As the draft nears, it’s hard not to picture organizations like middle school dancers. They lean one way, then another, then back the other way and all in some awkward rhythm indiscernible to the human eye.

Finally, though, it seems the Minnesota Timberwolves have leaned their final direction, and have informed Karl-Anthony Towns he’ll be their pick Thursday evening.
This, via Adam Zagoria for ZagsHoops.com:
"“It’s done, he’s going to Minnesota,” the source said. “[Minnesota President and coach] Flip Saunders was big on Jahlil Okafor for a minute there and after Karl came in [on Saturday], he decided to work out for them. He only worked out for them and it’s a wrap. It’s a wrap. They just told him they’re going to take him No. 1.”"
If this is the case – and it still might not be – the Lakers can finally move on with some semblance of a plan. It feels like it was always going to be either Towns or Okafor at the top of the draft, so this report isn’t all that surprising considering Towns broke down and worked out for Minnesota over the weekend.
Chad Ford tweeted out the Lakers’ apparent reaction only an hour or so later, completing the morning’s league-wide posturing.
