We’re days away from the utter madness that is NBA free agency so, it shouldn’t shock anyone to hear of teams positioning for meetings, meals or any other opportunity to sell a player on the situation each franchise over the others.

Enter Kobe Bryant: Salesman.
According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Bryant has already reached out to arguably the most athletic center in the NBA.
"Jordan has gotten a call from Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, the officials said. Bryant wanted Jordan to know the Lakers are interested."
Jordan makes the most sense of almost anyone on the market right now. He’d immediately improve the Lakers’ defense and wouldn’t need post touches as all he needs are lobs to be successful on the other side of the ball.
It’s also important to acknowledge how many teams are interested in his services and the fact he’d be coming from the Los Angeles Clippers slightly hurts the Lakers’ chances. The ire he would receive from Clippers fans would be such that he’d really have to hate his situation to change Staples Center lockerrooms.
If Mitch Kupchak and the Buss family are able to convince Jordan to do so, however, the Lakers are immediately back on the map and on the verge of contending for a spot in the playoffs. We’d obviously have to see how D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle pan out, but on paper, the fit is absolutely perfect.
The Lakers are scheduled to meet with Jordan Wednesday afternoon.
