Lakers News: LaMarcus Aldridge Meets With Lakers First
The Los Angeles Lakers met with top free agent target LaMarcus Aldridge tonight with names like both Buss siblings, Mitch Kupchak, Kobe Bryant and James Worthy in attendance. What’s at stake?
Whatever it might be, the Lakers are pulling out all the stops on social media.

Adam LeVine, Lakers? Adam freaking LeVine? Aldridge better be a HUGE Maroon 5 fan, or you blew it. You had the entire Los Angeles/Hollywood area to choose from and you roll with… Well, never mind.
If LaMarcus is able to look past that and does choose to sign in Los Angeles, all talk of the Lakers having lost its mystique can die and die painfully. The Lakers will have come off of the worst two-year stretch in franchise history and recovered enough for the top free agent on the market — a player deeply rooted in the community he comes from — to place these Lakers atop his list of preferred destinations.
Even if he doesn’t choose Los Angeles, the fact that the Lakers were even in the conversation after these last two years is somewhat of a win in and of itself. Sure, eventually, they’ll have to land the big fish in the pond, but it’s impossible not to consider this progress.
So, as the meeting stretches into the night, and as members from up and down the organization try to sell Aldridge on everything this city has to offer, it’s good to see them pull out all the stops. Regardless of how misguided their choice in celebrity might be.
