Lakers Rumors: LA Looking For Cap Space For Jordan, Aldridge

Heading into tonight (free agency officially starts at 9:01 PM PST) must Lakers fans thought they had this pretty much figured out. The Lakers would sign either LaMarcus Aldridge or DeAndre Jordan with their already heft cap space, and head into next season exponentially better than they were last year.

He had first said the Lakers were trying to free up significantly more cap space, which some could take to mean trading Nick Young for nothing. Addition by subtraction. Still, though, significant would seem to mean more than the roughly $5M Young is owed.
Might the Lakers be moving the rookies? Might they be trying to move Kobe? Might the world be about to explode a la the Star Wards Death Star? I have no idea, but this free agency period is already shaping up to be something not even our wildest dreams could’ve contemplated up until only minutes ago.
