However, it’s important for the Lakers to be realistic. Aldridge would jump start this rebuilding process, but the San Antonio Spurs remain the favorites to land the Texas native. What will the Lakers do if the miss out on Aldridge?
The Lakers have reached out to Tyson Chandler and Robin Lopez, but they might also be interested in bringing back a familiar face. According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, the Lakers have reached out to Ed Davis:
Davis had somewhat of an unusual season with the Lakers. He showed promise, but didn’t get much playing time as the season came to a close. Davis will be looking for a long term deal and as Medina mentioned, several teams are interested in his services.
The big man out of North Carolina is only 26 years old, which means he still has time to improve. If given the opportunity, Davis has the size and athleticism to average a double-double and a couple of blocks per game.
