The Lakers begin their five game road trip against the winless Brooklyn Nets tonight in New York.
Despite possessing the league’s easiest schedule through the first five games, the Los Angeles Lakers are still winless.
On Wednesday night, two of the last three undefeated teams faced off when the Golden State Warriors took on the Los Angeles Clippers. Tonight represents just the opposite, the battle of two of the last three defeated, winless teams.
The Lakers and Nets are joined by the New Orleans Pelicans as the only three teams without a win so far this season. While hopes were relatively low for the two former teams, the Pelicans were expected to make a splash in this year’s playoffs. That said, two of their four losses were to the defending champion Warriors.
Similarly, all five of Brooklyn’s losses were against teams that are expected to make the playoffs. The same cannot be said about the Lakers, who have lost to four teams expected to be lottery teams.
Can the Lakers finally turn it around tonight in New York?
