Today, the Los Angeles Lakers will play the second game of their five game road trip against the New York Knickerbockers.

On Friday, the Lakers notched their first win of the season against the still winless Brooklyn Nets. Coach Byron Scott finally decided to switch up his lineups, opting to play Larry Nance Jr. and Metta World Peace over Marcelo Huertas, Ryan Kelly and Brandon Bass. He decision to do so may ultimately be considered what gave Los Angeles the edge over the struggling Nets.

Additionally, D’Angelo Russell had his best game of his young career, putting up 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-3 from downtown. Russell continues to improve every game and is solidifying his quote that he is a slow starter, who will pick up the game over time.

Los Angeles faces a Knicks team who started the season relatively strong, but are currently on a three-game losing streak. The Lakers must remember to box out Latvian rookie power forward, Kristaps Porzingis, as he already has three monster putback dunks through six games.

Predictions: The Lakers win their first back-to-back games of the season and D’Angelo Russell has his first standout NBA performance.

Here’s everything you need to know about today’s early game.
