When the Lakers selected Jordan Clarkson out of Missouri in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft with the 46th-overall pick, it’s safe to say that Lakers fans and NBA analysts alike didn’t think that the pick would amount to a great deal, particularly in the next few years. However, Clarkson has proven everyone who has had those thoughts completely wrong.

More from Lakers News

Clarkson was the brightest star of a hard-to-deal-with 2014-15 season as he showed real scoring prowess as a young NBA guard and put up admirable numbers in spite of the Lakers’ overall lack of success. He was, to get way too poetic, the oasis in the middle of a desert that was the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

It’s been more of the same for the Lakers this season. While some guards have shot abysmally in terms of efficiency this season, Clarkson has largely been quit efficient as a scorer and has unquestionably been the most reliable offensive threat in Los Angeles. Lakers fans should rejoice that they have a player like Clarkson in the organization and, despite the fact that his efforts right now won’t result in wins, that he can help form a core for the future of the team.
