2. The Los Angeles Clippers
Whether they will admit it or not, the Clippers have serious problems at the small forward position, which has so often been the case in recent years.
This offseason the Clippers loaded up, signing Paul Pierce, Wesley Johnson, and Lance Stephenson, with the assumption that one of them would heal their 3-spot woes, but that’s been far from the case.
Pierce, Johnson and Stephenson are averaging 4.8, 4.7 and 4.9 points per game respectively, and last Sunday night, afterthought Luc Mbah a Moute started for the Clippers against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Clippers are sixth in the Western Conference at (10-9) and their dysfunction is well documented. That said, the organization has already began making “exploratory calls” to other teams.
Could Nick Young be the answer to their problems?
The Clippers problem isn’t on the offensive side of the ball, as they rank fifth overall in points per game, but considering their chemistry problems, maybe the happy-go-lucky Young could provide some relief in the locker room.
Hey, if Mario Chalmers‘ 3-point shooting could turn things around in Memphis, anything is possible.
